The Coast Guard wrote in its post that the man was safely rescued and transported to Mustang Beach Airport in Port Aransas. It is unclear why the man was out in the Port Aransas waters and how long he was out there.
Port Aransas city officials closed the beach on Saturday in response to Tropical Storm Beta, which made landfall late Monday just north of Port O’Connor near Matagorda Bay. Officials reopened the beach on Tuesday.
